Range

Dugongs:
The dugong can be found in the waters of over 40 countries within the western Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Dugongs range includes East Africa, the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, Asia, Micronesia, Melanesia, Indonesia, and Australia.

Arctic Sea Cows:
Steller's Sea Cow is extinct. While alive, this Sea Cow frequented the cold waters of the subarctic. This is very unique for a Sirenian, as most of it's relatives prefer warm tropical and subtropical waters.

Steller's Sea Cow was also the largest of it's brethren. The Sea Cow was hunted to extinction in the late 18th century by Russian hunters. Many sea travelers of that time traveled to the waters near the Bearing and Copper Islands to lay in stores of Sea Cow meat to augment their stores during sea voyages.
